Our Production
Since the brand's founding in 1896, Palmgrens has consistently shown great respect for both raw materials and craftsmanship. Our products are primarily sewn in vegetable-tanned calfskin, a leather that develops character and patina over time. These leathers are preserved using vegetable materials and left free from synthetic surface treatments, allowing the leather to age with dignity.
The Material & Artisans
Vegetable-tanned leather combined with our artisan tradition forms the basis of our production. All production takes place in Sweden, Spain, Italy, and England, often in small family-owned workshops where our collaborations have often spanned several generations.
A Local Principle
We work according to a local principle, by basing production on the technical knowledge requirements of the product, and then producing in leathers from local tanneries. This way allows us to avoid unnecessary transportation, contribute to local production and expertise, and minimize environmental impact.
A Living Collection
By consistently developing individual products instead of launching collections, we can present an organic range where each product finds its place in a constantly evolving offering. Our design process can be based on a specific leather, a model from our extensive archive, or take shape in collaboration with an external designer, with particular material knowledge or discipline. This always takes place in close collaboration with the ateliers and the process is continuously shaped by the craftsmanship.
An Archival Return
In our archive, our material signature was found interpreted in a softly flared cylindrical shape, an expression we revisited with updated details in a limited production in three shades.
